Standard entries to the 2012 Ironman 70.3 UK event will close at midnight on Monday 2 April; thereafter entries will only be available via official charities, Scope and Rotary International, or the event’s travel partner, Nirvana Europe.
2,000 athletes are currently entered in Ironman 70.3 UK, which takes place on Sunday 17 June in the beautiful Exmoor countryside. The swim starts in Wimbleball Lake, followed by a challenging 56 mile bike course, and a half-marathon around Wimbleball Lake to finish.
Kevin Stewart, Managing Director of Ironman UK and Ireland said, “Ironman 70.3 UK has become an iconic fixture in the Ironman 70.3 series as it is perceived to be one of the most challenging. It is great to see the popularity of the event ever increasing and 2012 will see more athletes than ever taking part with over 2,000 signed up already.”
Other options to enter Ironman 70.3 UK are available via the event’s two official charities. In return for raising money on their behalf Rotary and Scope provide a subsidised entry fee and support for their fundraisers in the months leading up to the event, as well as on race day.
There are also a limited number of places available with official travel partner, Nirvana Europe, which offers accommodation packages for athletes.
