London Bike Show starts historic year for British cycling

The launch of The London Bike Show in January 2011 was a hit with London’s cyclists, and the show is returning in 2012 with twice the number of exhibitors and some brand new attractions. The London Bike Show takes place from 12-15 January 2012 at ExCeL, London.

For consumers looking to buy a first bike, treat themselves to some new gear or for those that want to check out the latest bike designs, The London Bike Show has it all. The show also offers an opportunity to meet some of cycling’s top stars and a range of experts, be entertained by awesome demonstrations and to try and buy the latest bikes.

Bike Radar Training Hub
New for 2012 is The Bike Radar Training Hub, an exclusive area within the show offering visitors an experience fit for the professional. A team of experts from Koolstof Sports Coaching will be on hand to put visitors through their paces in a series of tests and consultations, designed to enhance cycling performance and show riders exactly where they can improve. A limited number of tickets to The Bike Radar Training Hub are available for £99 including show entry.

DMR Pump Track Challenge
Also new for 2012 is the DMR Pump Track Challenge. The 4th event in the series will see two riders go head to head around a wooden track (about 200m long) in less than 20 seconds over rollers and around berms. The DMR Pump Track Challenge will take place every day and a host of top riders have already confirmed their attendance in the competition.

Indoor bike polo!
To complete the new 2012 attractions The London Bike Show has teamed up with the London Hardcourt Bike Polo Association to host London’s first ever indoor international bike polo tournament. Over 20 teams will be competing throughout the course of the show to be crowned London Bike Show Champions. Visitors will be able to try out bike polo for themselves, with guidance from experts on the bike polo taster pitch.

Returning to the show is the Animal Bike Tour, Europe’s number one mountain bike freestyle team. They hit The London Bike Show by storm in 2011 mixing demos of incredible skill, control and balance with spectacular aerial style tricks. The 2012 tour features a brand new circuit and features some of the world’s most exciting riders.

Another popular attraction from the 2011 London Bike Show, The Cycling Stage, will return in 2012, featuring some of the world’s top cyclists, cycling teams and cycle adventurers.

For the finest examples of the latest bikes and innovations within cycling, visitors should also head to The Cool Wall, a display handpicked by experts from the world of cycling.

The London Bike Show takes place from 12-15 January 2012 at ExCeL, London, alongside The Outdoors Show, The Active Travel Show and the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show, with tickets valid for entry to all four shows.

The London Bike Show launched in 2011, alongside The Outdoors Show, which has been running for 11 years. The two events combined with the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show at ExCeL London in 2011 and attracted an audience of 70,034, making it ‘the largest consumer event in Europe for outdoors enthusiasts.’ The Active Travel Show is a newly launched event for 2012.

The Outdoors Show, The London Bike Show and The Active Travel Show are organised by VOS Media. The Tullett Prebon London Boat Show is organised by National Boat Shows, a subsidiary of the British Marine Federation.
