One of the oldest and most prestigious triathlons in the world, the Noosa Triathlon, has filled this week in record time.
USM Events – the race organiser behind the popular Noosa Triathlon in Queensland, Australia – recently confirmed that the 2013 Noosa Triathlon event will take place on 3 November 2013.
2013 Noosa Tri Individual entries are now sold out. USM has confirmed that the Individual Wait List is available via www.noosatri.com.au and will be open until 31 March 2013. Here, entries will be randomly released off the wait list prior to June 2013 and successful registrants will be notified via their registered email.
Individuals looking to enter Australia’s largest triathlon – and one of the world’s largest – can alternatively enter via a Team, Festival Event, Individual Gold Pass or Charity Entry.
Noosa is a 5 day festival of sport and entertainment, which this year ran from 31 October to 4 November. Noosa has events for the sporting enthusiast, elite athletes and celebrities in one of Australia’s most popular destinations. As Australia’s largest, oldest and highest profile triathlon event, the main Noosa Triathlon Olympic distance race is one of the most iconic endurance races, recognized worldwide for its unique festival format.
Beyond Australia, Noosa is amongst the largest triathlon events worldwide – as it attracts over 8,500 triathlon competitors and over 14,000 across the wider festival. An estimated 50,000 spectators visited the festival in 2012, helping to inject millions of dollars into the local economy.
Hy-Vee 5150 US Champs qualifier
As part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for this year’s 2012 Noosa Triathlon, the event’s organizers announced that Noosa was nominated as a qualification race for the 2013 Hy-Vee 5150 US Championship to be held in Des Moines, Iowa, on 1 September 2013.
The alliance between Noosa and Hy-Vee/5150 follows the February 2012 acquisition of USM Events by Ironman brand owner World Triathlon Corporation (WTC). USM Events is Australia’s leading event management company and is the owner of iconic premier multisport festivals at Noosa, Cairns, Mooloolaba and Geelong.
