Wiggle is on a mission to find the UK’s next big sporting stars. The online retailer’s 2012 Wiggle Athlete Search launches today, 20 January 2012, and this promises to be Wiggle’s biggest athlete recruitment campaign ever.
Wiggle is offering everyday sportspeople the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become a member of Team Wiggle. It’s a chance for talented individuals to develop their passion for sport. In essence, Wiggle is looking for ordinary people with extraordinary sporting talent.
Prospective Team Wiggle athletes can visit Wiggle’s Facebook page to submit an application or register a vote.
Team Wiggle winners will receive a full product package and enjoy full support in their chosen sport. As the company points out, ‘You don’t have to have a room chock-full of medals; but passion, drive and a smile are all essentials!’
Jason Sims, Event and Athlete Manager at Wiggle, is excited at the prospect of some new additions to Team Wiggle. “Wiggle has had an incredible year,” he said. “Our international exposure has meant that Wiggle’s activity has absolutely sky-rocketed!”
Sims added, “Successful applicants to the Wiggle Athlete Search 2012 will be joining at a time when there are doors opening all the time. Not only is there a total dream package but on top of this, you will have access to opportunities that we haven’t even anticipated! Come on board – join the Wiggle family!”
For those age group athletes 18 years old or above, Team Wiggle is open to the following disciplines:
- Mountain Biking / Cyclo-Cross
- Road Cycling
- Triathlon / IM 70.3 / Ironman
- Running / Marathon / Adventure / Fell
- Swimming
- BMX / Trials
Winners will each receive the following support package for a full year:
- A training bike for the season worth up to £1000
- A race bike for the season worth up to £2000*
- A clothing and equipment package including Team Wiggle 2012 kit
- An ‘amazing discount’ on any other pieces of kit available from Wiggle
