The Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa, in Kona, Hawaii, has become the title sponsor for the 4th Annual Lavaman Keauhou Triathlon scheduled for Sunday 18 November 2012.
Lavaman Keauhou is a fully sanctioned USA Triathlon (USAT) Olympic distance triathlon produced by Hawaii Sports Connection. It is open to elite triathletes, triathlon enthusiasts and relay teams of all ages and levels.
“Sheraton Keauhou Bay is excited about this opportunity to support our Keauhou Resort community and the triathlon community at large through sponsorship of Lavaman Keauhou,” said Sheraton General Manager Steve Lindburg. “We know Hawaii Sports Connection puts on an excellent and safe event and we’re proud to take on a larger role for Lavaman Keauhou 2012 and beyond.”
On Saturday 17 November, the Lavaman Keauhou Expo opens at the Sheraton convention center. During the expo, racers will pick-up their race-day packets and will enjoy a range of multisport product and sponsor booths. A LavaKids event also takes centre stage on Saturday morning with the Lavakids Youth Aquathon swim/run at Keauhou Bay for children aged 7 to 14 and a special LavaKids Dash for children under age 7.
In keeping with the Lavaman tradition, after the main race on 18 November, the weekend will conclude with an awards party and banquet at Sheraton Keauhou Bay, complete with live music, food and camaraderie for volunteers and athletes.
