As part of UK consumer event the Running Show, race organiser All About Triathlons will host a 2K family run and a 10K race in the historic grounds of Sandown Park on 25 November.
Organised by TCR Shows, for the first year ever, the Running Show will be held on 24-25 November at Sandown Park in Esher (the venue for the UK’s annual Triathlon Show and this year’s inaugural Road Cycling Show). New also to 2012 is the fact that entry to the Running Show will be free to those who pre-register. For those turning up on the day it will be £12 on the door (under 16s go free).
After a successful run at London Olympia, the organisers of the Running Show are moving the event to Sandown Park in Surrey, south west of London. The facilities will allow a host of activities and seminars.
Kids run free!
The 2K family run starts at 10:35 on Sunday 25 November. It’s free to show visitors, who can just turn up at the start-line, located at the main grandstand. The family run is for all the family, from children of all ages, to parents with buggies to grandparents. With many UK runners inspired by their GB Olympic heroes, a fantastic atmosphere with lots of support along the course is to be expected.
10K run around the show
The 10K race will start at 10:30 and is for those wanting a challenge and the chance to take in the historic grounds of Sandown Park during a two-lap dash around the venue, starting and finishing at the main grandstand. Timing chips and bib numbers will be issued on the day. All finishers will receive a momento of the race.
10K runners must pre-register (there will be no entries available on the day) and race entry costs £15. Online entry is now open via the Running Show registration portal. Runners can then pick up their timing chips and race numbers from 08:30 on the day.
As well as having the opportunity to race around Sandown Park, visitors to The Running Show will be able to gain valuable information from major running brands. Whether the visitor is new to running or a marathon veteran, The Running Show will provide information on training plans, choosing the right apparel, nutrition options and much more.
