Following a successful outing for last year’s Benidorm Triathlon, event organiser White! Go For It has announced the launch of four new triathlon events for 2012 in Spain. The events will all be multi-format (Supersprint, Sprint and Olympic) and located in mid-size cities in the south and south-east of Spain: Carboneras (Almeria) on 2 September, Alicante (Valencia) on 16 September, Pilar de la Hortada (Valencia) on 21 October, and El Puerto de Santa Maria (Andalusia) on 28 October.
For the first time in Spain, all events will be part of the newly launched Triwhite CUP, offering an option to get ranked and gain additional prizes for those athletes that compete in more than one event. The competition is sponsored by bike brand BH Triathlon, endurance sports nutrition specialist 226ERS, Virgin Active Health Clubs and multisport apparel company Taymory.
The Race Director of the Triwhite CUP event series Fermín Egido, noted that the organizers expect that “The friendly triathlon formats offered, the complimentary family activities, and the convenient connections of the selected locations will make most of the participants take part in more than one event, contributing to the successful launch of the TriWhite CUP in Spain.”
The White! Go For It organization takes an active role in the promotion of triathlon as a social inclusion mechanism. At each of the company’s event venues a Team White with local youngsters is created, following on from the initial Team White that was successfully established last year in Benidorm.
