USA Triathlon 2013 National Championship schedule

National governing body USA Triathlon (USAT) has announced the dates and locations for a number of its 2013 National Championship events. These provided multisport athletes from across the United States the opportunity to compete in a top-notch championship environment and earn official national champion status.

Kicking off the 2013 National Championship slate is the USA Triathlon Winter Triathlon National Championships, which will be held on 27 January 2013 alongside the Powder Hound Winter Triathlon in Butte, Montona, for the second straight year. The Winter Nationals feature a 5K trail run, a 10K mountain bike and 5K cross-country ski – all on snow.

USA Triathlon’s Long Course Duathlon Nationals heads west in 2013 and will be held in conjunction with the Mount Rainier Duathlon in Enumclaw, Washington, on 28 April. The event will be comprised of a 5.12-mile run, followed by a 28.88-mile bike and a 3.79-mile run.

Featuring a 1,500m swim and a 5K run, the Aquathlon National Championships event is slated for 4 August at the Lake Logan Aquathlon in Canton, North Carolina.

The 2013 USA Triathlon Off-Road National Championships will be contested at the C Me Dirty Off-Road Triathlon on 15 September 15 in Grand Prairie, Texas. The race consists of a 600m swim, 14-mile mountain bike and 5K trail run.

2013 Long Course Triathlon Nationals and Aquabike Nationals will be held alongside the 13 October3 Rev3 South Carolina in Anderson, SC. The long course event features a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run, while the aquabike race includes a 1.2-mile swim and a 56-mile bike.

Additionally, the USA Triathlon Youth and Junior National Championships return to West Chester, Ohio, for a second straight year on 3-4 August 2013. Once again, this weekend will feature draft-legal Youth Elite and Junior Elite National Championships, a Mixed Team Relay and youth events for ages 7-15.

In addition to chasing national titles, athletes also will be competing for prized spots on Team USA at a number of USA Triathlon National Championships. Team USA is comprised of age group athletes who represent the US at each ITU world championship event.
