Wahoo Fitness iPhone 4S heart rate belt rolls out in Europe

Shortly after Apple launched its new iPhone 4S, the US iPhone sensor specialist Wahoo Fitness presented the world’s first heart rate belt (BlueHR) with innovative Bluetooth smart technology. This technology transmits heart rate data directly to an iPhone 4S.

Based out of Gainsville, Georgia, US, Wahoo Fitness is a specialist at transferring training data wirelessly via iPhone, iPod and iPad via multiple sensors. Wahoo Fitness sensors are compatible with a number of sports apps and allow the athlete to analyze and display training data whether running, biking or undertaking other fitness regimes.

Wahoo Fitness products are distributed in Europe by the German company NC-17 Europe GmbH.

Those with a compatible App, such as the Wahoo Fitness App available at the iTunes App Store, can display and analyze heart rate and training data on the iPhone 4S directly without any additional adapter. According to the company, the new heart rate belt communication protocol uses only a tiny amount of power to conserve the iPhone’s battery.

The heart rate belt itself is powered by a 3V lithium battery, which can be easily replaced by the user. The adjustable fabric strap of the BlueHR belt also maximises comfort and fit.
