Ironman UK, with coaches from thetrilife.com, will be hosting a ‘Your First Ironman’ training camp at Wellington College, Berkshire, on 24-25 November 2012. The camp is specifically designed to prepare first time 2013 athletes for the training needed in order to have a great Ironman experience on race day.
The training camp is positioned as being perfect for anyone doing Ironman or Ironman 70.3 races in 2013 and for those who feel they could do with some guidance.
At thetrilife.com First Time Ironman training camp, athletes will learn:
• How to plan training – how many hours, what and when
• What kit is needed
• How to buy a wetsuit – getting the right fit
• Bike skills needed to get through the training
• Bike fit
• Swimming and how to improve it
• Simple strength and conditioning exercises to reduce the risk of injury
The weekend will include classroom sessions as well as stroke assessment sessions in the pool, bike skills sessions, a run session and a strength and conditioning session – coming together as a full package of learning and training.
