British Cycling has launched a new dedicated online resource of cycling knowledge designed to help improve the performance of cyclists at all levels. The new resource – Insight Zone – will provide advice from some of British Cycling’s experts, for the first time ever, to help cyclists in all areas of their training and development – from those getting on a bike for the first time to the avid sportive rider.
British Cycling’s experts will help people learn how to improve their climbing technique, how to ride in a group, how to easily fix a puncture, or how to keep fuelled during a sportive – and much more. The new online database has a modern and easy to use interface, including in-depth videos, downloadable training plans and a step-by-step guide to improving performance on the bike.
British Cycling’s Head of Marketing, Gavin Finch said “After a phenomenal year for British Cycling in 2012 which saw Bradley Wiggins become the first Briton to win the Tour de France, and 16 gold medals at London 2012 – thousands of new riders have been inspired to get on their bikes.
“The Insight Zone will provide cyclists with the same expert training advice that the likes of Bradley Wiggins and Laura Trott receive on a daily basis and we’ve designed it to help give people all the advice and techniques they need to improve, regardless of their level or skill.”
Finch added, “We’ve now got over 64,000 members and we know that over 90% of our recreational members really value cycling tips and advice. The Insight Zone brings together expertise from all the people who have had a hand in the success of British Cycling – including former world champions, as well as our GB coaches, nutritionists, physiotherapists and mechanics.”
