Endurance Sports Expo expands to trio of shows in 2013

The Endurance Sports Expo – billed as the largest cycling, running and triathlon consumer show in the US – is expanding to three shows in 2013 connecting more brands with endurance athletes and featuring the latest gear, training services, industry experts and event information for the upcoming season.

In addition to the Philadelphia Area and New York Metro events, the inaugural DC/Virginia Endurance Sports Expo (ESE) joins the series on 9-10 February 2013 at Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

The fourth annual Philadelphia expo returns to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania, on 23-24 February followed by the second annual New York Metro area expo at the New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center in Edison, New Jersey on 2-3 March.

“Over the last four years, the Endurance Sports Expo has established itself as the premier preseason event for endurance brands to interact and connect directly with cyclists, runners and triathletes on the East Coast,” said Matt Reece, co-producer of the Endurance Sports Expo.

“With hundreds of vendors, an outdoor demo area, and Endurance University, ESE is a one-stop show for athletes to learn, experience and buy the latest endurance products and for brands to reach athletes looking to gear up for the season.”

Each ESE stop will feature Endurance University educational seminars where nationally recognized professional and Olympic athletes, coaches and industry insiders will share their expertise. The full Endurance U schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.

For more information or to purchase tickets, athletes can go to www.endurancesportsexpo.com.

Tickets are US$7 online in advance or US$10 per day at the door. Expo hours for the events in February and March are 10:00-17:00 ET on Saturday and 10:00-17:00 ET on Sunday. The first 750 attendees each day will receive a ‘swag bag’ full of giveaways from vendors and sponsors.

2012 ESE highlights:

  • 8,500 + paid active sports attendees filled vendors booths and seminars
  • Over 300 vendor spaces between Oaks and Edison
  • Many seminars were standing room only
  • Average consumer stay at expo: 3.5 hours
  • Demo rides featuring top brands

6,000 active sports enthusiasts attended the Philly event and 2,500 were in Edison, NJ. The organisers anticipate 2013 attendance to be 15,000 overall across the three locations.
