Entries are now open for the ITU World Triathlon Cape Town event. Part of the 2014 ITU World Triathlon Series (ITU WTS) Cape Town is the first ITU WTS triathlon to be held on African soil; and is a weekend Festival of Sport scheduled for 26-27 April 2014 at the V&A Waterfront Cape Town.
(Earlier in December, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the recently launched ITU World Triathlon Cape Town announced that, out of respect for the former President Nelson Mandela and South Africa’s 10 Days of Mourning, the intended date of entries opening previously announced as 10 December 2013 would be delayed to 17 December 2013.)
The new 2014 event will not only showcase the world’s best elite athletes racing over the Olympic distance of a 1500m swim, 40K cycle and 10K run, but it’s also an event for the masses. Entries are open for the Sprint and Olympic distance for individuals and teams.

In addition to the main age group events, athletes will be treated to a weekend full of festivities; including sundown concerts, a race exhibition, kids & family races.
