A total of 2,318 trade visitors from around the globe, as well as 732 journalists, experienced and test-rode the latest new products in cycling at the 7th Eurobike Demo Day on 27 August 2013. The picturesque scenery of Argenbühl in Germany’s Allgäu region combined with an array of new products from 247 exhibitors to create the ideal conditions for the day of test riding.
Standing ready to be put through their paces were the newest bicycle models, as well as countless technical innovations.
“Demo Day is part innovation expo and part bike event, which makes it a perfect prelude to Eurobike,” explained Klaus Wellmann CEO of Messe Friedrichshafen. “It offers a unique opportunity to experience the trends of the upcoming season in action.”
At this year’s seventh edition of Eurobike Demo Day in Argenbühl, a veritable ‘who’s who’ of the international cycling industry presented the latest racing bikes, e-bikes, recumbent bikes, folding bikes and mountain bikes, and made them all available for test riding on a total of five different courses.
“We’re pleased to be able to announce several new Demo Day records,” remarked Project Director Dirk Heidrich. “As many as 147 manufacturers registered for the event (2012: 133). As a result, the exhibition floor was also expanded. We also had 2,318 trade visitors (2012: 1,938). Never before have so many trade visitors taken advantage of the opportunity to try out the coming year’s new bikes.”
Plenty of members of the press were also on hand to put the latest cycling innovations to the test ahead of the 2014 season. In fact, the organisers note that 732 journalists from 37 countries will be filing their stories all over the world about the cycling industry’s latest offerings (2012: 728).
Eurobike is open daily to trade visitors from Wednesday 28 August until Friday 30 August, from 08:30 CET to 18:30. On Saturday 31 August, the show will be open to the general public from 09:00 to 18:00.
