HITS Endurance is presenting the HITS North Country Triathlon for the second consecutive year. In cooperation with local race organizers, the North Country Triathlon joined the HITS Triathlon Series schedule last year and, for the first time ever, offered ‘a distance for everyone’ in Hague, New York. The event will return to the Adirondack Park on 21-22 June 2014 and registration is currently open for all distances at HITSTriathlonSeries.com.
Founded in 2007, the North Country Triathlon gained traction within the local triathlon community of upstate New York. “We were looking for a race destination that could provide a multi-distant event to athletes from across the tri-state area and capital region,” said HITS President and CEO Tom Struzzieri. “This event turned out to be a home run for us.”
Thanks to its close approximation to Canada, a strong contingent of Canadian athletes turned out for this year’s event under its new HITS branded identity.
Nearly doubling the size of the event in 2013, HITS Triathlon Series continues to grow the sport of triathlon as new athletes are born from the entry level HITS Open event format – a 100 metre swim, 3 mile bike and 1 mile run.
Again in 2014, seasoned athletes will be welcomed to a calm-water swim in Lake George, and challenging mountain-top bike and run routes during the Sprint, Olympic, Half and Full distance events.
Finalized course maps are now available at HitsTriathlonSeries.com, as well as lodging, a race day schedule and other important information.
All of HITS’ 2013 events will offer qualifying opportunities for HITS Athlete of the Year Awards, which will be presented at the HITS Championship in Palm Springs, California, on 7-8 December 2014.
