Scott Sports SA has confirmed that it has signed pro triathlete and two-time XTERRA World Champion, Lesley Paterson, who will compete on Scott bikes and Syncros branded parts and accessories in 2013.
In January 2012, Scott Sports confirmed that it had shifted its attention to the aftermarket bike accessories business, following its takeover of the Syncros brand.
The use of Syncros components should tie-up with Paterson’s recently confirmed wheel sponsorship deal with ENVE Composites, which manufactures rims and components. Paterson is expected to be riding ENVE rims and wheels – with her remaining component needs provided by Scott’s Syncros operation.
Paterson’s first outing with Scott and Syncros will be XTERRA Philippines, which takes place on 2 March 2013 in Liloan, Cebu.
She will hit the trails riding either the Contessa Scale 900 or Contessa Spark 900 29er mountain bikes. When taking to the road, Paterson will put in her miles on a Scott Plasma Premium for long-distance triathlon and the Scott FOIL Aero Road bike for training and short-distance tri events.
