Weighing in at just under an ounce/25g (0.88oz / 24.95), Rudy Project’s newest wraparound, single lens sport sunglass the Spaceguard is ‘feather light, yet highly durable’. These ultra-light, stylish sunglasses aim to offer the perfect balance of ergonomics and optical performance with ‘a quality to price ratio that makes them affordable for all cyclists, runners and athletes.’
The Spaceguard sunglasses are, although, at the upper end of the pricing spectrum coming in at US$159.99 RRP for all variants in the range.
Recognizable by its sleek mask design, the Spaceguard allows athletes to maintain maximum focus on the task at hand, ensuring peripheral vision. The wraparound design protects from harmful, distracting elements such as wind, sunlight and debris.
“Over the years, we’ve found that the wrap, shield lens is quite popular among cyclists because it maximizes the field of vision and provides the utmost in eye protection,” said Paul Craig, President and Co-Founder of Rudy Project North America. “The Spaceguard is guaranteed to be one of Rudy’s best sellers because it combines all these elements with stylish Italian craftsmanship and an affordable price point.”
The Spaceguard comes in three colour combinations, including a Black Gloss frame with a Photoclear lens, White Gloss with Multilaser Red; and a Black Matte frame with a Multilaser Orange lens. The mirrored surface treatment in Rudy Project’s multilaser lenses reflects sunlight and gives a stylish, sleek look and the new Photoclear lenses have a photochromic treatment that adapts to light changes.
The convenient and easy-to-use Quick Change system allows the consumer to swap from one lens to another with just a single click. Thanks to the anti-slip soft rubber temple tips and adjustable Ergo IV nosepiece, the Spaceguard aims to fit the face perfectly and comfortably, even riding at extreme speeds or participating in strenuous, vigorous activity.
The Spaceguard is available now from Rudy Project’s online store at e-rudy.com or from any of the brand’s dealers that can be found using the online dealer locator: e-rudy.com/dealer_locate.php.
