The team at Tri Dynamic has been busy racking up the air miles so far in 2013! Following on from organising the first ever tri camp in the world for age group athletes with elite coach Darren Smith and his Dsquad in Canberra, the team travelled back to London for another Tri Master Class last weekend.
This was Darren’s second Master Class with Tri Dynamic in London. He said, “It was great to be back in London. I really enjoyed working with those who attended the Tri Dynamic training weekend because the enthusiasm from the age groupers was infectious and we made some really significant changes in such a short period of time.”
The event was probably the only opportunity this year for age groupers in the UK to learn the secrets behind the success of Darren Smith’s Dsquad. The one day clinics took place at Hampton Pool and St Mary’s University College Twickenham and focused on improving swim and run technical skills.
Darren’s hands on, high attention style of coaching meant age groupers learnt a massive amount, in a short space of time, on how they could improve. Over the last 10 years Darren Smith has established himself as one of the finest triathlon coaches in the world. He has an impeccable record, being the only coach in the history of the sport to produce 6 athletes from his Dsquad to race at an Olympics; and in 2012 he was the first ever coach to have the world #1 & #2 ranked ITU WCS triathletes.
He coaches several of the best triathletes in the world including Anne Haug, Jodie Stimpson, Aileen Morrison, Annabel Luxford and Katie Hewison as well as a raft of up and coming athletes who are expected to make a big impression in 2013.
At the Tri Dynamic Master Class in London, there were two ability days to choose from – with Saturday being designed for Intermediate and Sunday for Advanced level triathletes. Participants travelled from all over the UK and from as far away as Italy to learn from Darren Smith. With limited numbers each day, each participant received individual coaching, video analysis and advice from Smith. By the end of the event there were some significant improvements in a very short space of time.
Continuing his tour of Europe this month, Darren Smith is also speaking at the ITU Science & Triathlon 2013 World Conference in Switzerland.
Tri Dynamic and Darren Smith have plans for more unique events and opportunities for age group triathletes to experience working with one of the most successful triathlon coaches in the world and his pro athletes. Further details to come as they are released…
