British pro triathlete Liz Blatchford has signed a sponsorship deal with South African sports nutrition specialist 32Gi to deliver all of her training and race nutrition needs.
The South African brand has been steadily increasing its footprint across the international endurance sport scene. At the end of 2012, it consolidated its push into Australia by becoming the Hydration and Nutrition Sponsor for the 2013 SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton event.
SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton joined other races on 32Gi’s Australian sponsored event calendar, which also includes sponsorship of: the Albany Trek Half Triathlon, Allbarnone Triathlon Series, Bunbury Classic and WA Interclub Championships.
With Blatchford’s rapid success in the IM 70.3 format and a recent announcement declaring her intention to race Ironman this year, she ‘wanted to find a product that was specifically built for endurance athletes’. She has chosen 32Gi as her partner to support all of her needs across all of the distances she races.

Citing one of the key benefits of working with 32Gi, Blatchford said, “I have none of the usual spikes I get from other products and that’s because of the way it has been designed. It’s very light on my stomach allowing me to keep pushing harder.”
She added, “I have been using the product for a couple of months, but I knew straight away it would be what I needed as I move to longer events. I struggled with my nutrition when I first started going long, but it’s been solved ever since I found 32Gi. I’m wrapped that I could work with them.”
“At 32Gi we pride ourselves on supporting athletes to be their best,” said Mark Wolff, Director at 32Gi. “Traditionally we have focused on grass roots athletes in the markets where we operate, but we recognize with our expansion into Australia the importance of elite athlete sponsorship. Allowing our nutrition range to be used by the best athletes in the world allows us to bring our vision to life and highlight our dedication to endurance sports.”
