XTERRA England and the Markel Hever Castle Triathlon, produced by Dream Team Television, will feature on mainstream terrestrial TV. The two events are being broadcast by Channel 4 on Saturday 12 October and Sunday 13 October.

XTERRA England, the off-road triathlon festival raced and won by Ben Allen and Jacqui Slack on 8 September, will be screened on Channel 4 television in the UK as part of a 30-minute highlights programme. The TV show will air on Saturday 12 October on Channel 4 at 07.30 GMT, before moving to repeats across the Channel 4 network, Sky Sports and Eurosport over the coming months.
Millions of viewers will enjoy the new annual sporting spectacle that is located in the stunning Vachery Estate in Cranleigh, Surrey. The 2013 edition featured the XTERRA England Championship triathlon – a 1.5K swim in the private spring-fed Vachery Lake, before hitting the trails and singletrack of the classic British woodlands for a 30K mountain bike ride, then completing the race with a tough 10K trail run.
The TV show will also feature action from the XTERRA Sprint Triathlon, 1,500m and 3,000m swims, the event’s big expo and live music stage, capturing what was ‘a fantastic and inspirational day of racing and outdoor enjoyment in the heart of South-East England.’
Markel Hever Castle Triathlon

The organisers of the Hever Castle Triathlon, which took place on 28-29 September, welcomed over 5,000 competitors including 1,200 children and 400 bold participants taking on The Gauntlet… The Gauntlet, is the new middle distance race (1.9K swim / 90K cycle / 21K run), that is ‘attracting serious triathletes from across Europe to race around the scenic Kent countryside.’
On Saturday 28 September the afternoon saw parents covered in goose bumps as they cheered their children on in a major kids triathlon. With 1,200 taking part, the organisers noted that this ‘is likely to be the largest children’s triathlon in the world… with lots of siblings and school classes racing together.’
Channel 4 sent a camera crew and helicopter to take in the action. In addition to Channel 4, footage is also due to be broadcast on Sky Sports and Eurosport.
