Triathlon Western Australia (Tri WA) has announced that Mizuno Australia is on board as the title run leg and merchandise partner for the SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon, which will be held between Thursday 1 May and Sunday 4 May 2014.
With local organisation by the Tri WA team, in cooperation with Ironman brand owner World Triathlon Corp (WTC), the SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon comprises a series of 3 day events culminating in the SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton triathlon on Saturday 3 May 2014.
Entries for the 2014 Ironman 70.3 Busselton will open on Wednesday 23 October 2013.
Commenting on the new sponsorship deal, Trent Harlow, Brand Marketing Manager from Mizuno Australia said “Mizuno have a proud history of more than 100 years in providing great sporting product to encourage people to participant in sports. For Mizuno Australia this story is a little shorter in length but no different in its goal.”

Following a rapid sell-out for the 2012 event, Tri WA confirmed that the 1650 individual entries for the SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton 2013 event reached capacity in equally rapid fashion. Entries for the 2013 event opened at 20:00 local time on 24 October and were full by 25 October.
More than 3,500 participants and 17,000 spectators will descend on Busselton for the first weekend in May 2014. The main event Ironman 70.3 Busselton will see the participants tackle a 1.9K swim, 90.1K cycle and a 21.1km run along the Busselton foreshore.
