Cycle Show 2013 photos – part 2

In part two of our selection of photos from this year’s Cycle Show 2013, which took place at the NEC in Birmingham, UK, on 26-29 September 2013, we see a mixture of tri and bike offerings on show.

First up, Madison, the distributors of Lazer helmets and Pearl Izumi tri apparel had a quirky combination of helmet, apparel and flowing water on stand. Pearl Izumi is a leading international brand in the manufacture of high-performance, high-tech sports apparel and footwear for avid cycling, tri and running enthusiasts. Based in Louisville, Colorado, a suburb of Boulder, Pearl Izumi is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shimano American Corporation, located in Irvine, California.

The long-awaited Garmin Vector pedal-based power meter was boxed and ready to go at the Cycle Show.  Garmin notes that Vector is a lightweight direct measurement power meter, designed for quick installation, portability, and ease-of-use. Taking only minutes to install, Vector ‘provides accurate and reliable power data and uniquely measures and presents right and left leg power balance to ANT+ compatible head units.’

Vector is available immediately and was prominently displayed at Eurobike and Interbike; and will be on show at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawai’i, this month.

The two major groupset specialists – Japan’s Shimano and Italy’s Campagnolo – were both showing their wares, including 11 speed gearing systems. Shimano’s UK distributor Madison had an array of components on offer, including those specific for triathlon/TT. Campagnolo was showing its 80th anniversary products and the new Bora Ultra 35 lightweight wheels.
