Nautica Malibu Triathlon raises US$1.08 million for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

Morale was high at the 27th annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon, presented by Equinox, this year on 7-8 September. Coupled with the experience of swimming, biking and running along the white sand and glistening shores of Malibu – a large pool of 5,500 participants also helped to raise funds for children suffering with cancer.

Raising more than US$1.08 million for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ Pediatric Cancer Research Program, celebrities, locals, triathletes and philanthropists gathered to show their support for this worthy cause.

Among the impressive roster of participants and supporters were some Hollywood stars, including soap actress Heather Tom, who came in first in the celebrity female division, and fitness model and actor Alec Musser who came in first in the celebrity male division.

Funds raised by the Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox will go to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ Pediatric Cancer Research Program, which is dedicated to curing and preventing childhood cancers. The program provides ground-breaking treatments and therapies for children with some of the most serious and life-threatening forms of cancers.

Friends, family and fans of the Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox also enjoyed games in the Fun Zone and watched little competitors take on the Nautica Kids Run and Tot Trot.
