On the road to pro, as Amy Kilpin partners with Triathlon Training Spain

Triathlon Training Spain has announced that it is partnering with British long distance triathlete Amy Kilpin to provide coaching at its venue close to Alicante in Spain in preparation for Amy’s 2014 season.

Triathlon Training Spain will provide Amy with coached swim and triathlon clinics to help improve her performance for the 2014 season. Amy has already qualified for the European Long Distance Triathlon Championships and is further aiming to qualify for the World Championships to be held in China in September 2014.

Triathlon Training Spain, owned by Martin Hill, a British Triathlon Federation Level 3 Coach and a Certified Swim Smooth Coach, is located close to Alicante, Spain. Martin provides coaching that is tailored specifically to small groups of swimmers and triathletes to enable them to benefit from high quality coaching in a relaxed, homely and fully catered environment.

Triathlon Training Spain’s Swim Smooth weekend clinics have proven to be very popular – alongside week-long triathlon clinics that also benefit from the use of on-site Wattbikes for technical training to complement the spectacular local environment.

Amy – coached in the UK by Steve Lloyd – has longer term aspirations to turn professional and she has the support of a number of other sponsors in this bid:

The partnership with Triathlon Training Spain will allow Amy to benefit from the team’s direct coaching experience. Amy’s first visit will be in January 2014 to attend a long weekend Swim Smooth Swim Clinic where her stroke will be filmed and analysed.

Stroke correction and open water coaching will follow to help improve her swim stroke. This will be followed by a week-long triathlon clinic in late April to assess her swim development and work on bike performance with the Wattbike as well as road riding and running technique.
