The confirmed dates for Nottingham’s Outlaw and Outlaw Half events in 2014 will be 27 July and 1 June. Following on from the success of this year’s events in the UK, entries will open by the end of this month. Event organiser One Step Beyond is accepting online submissions of interest from athletes keen to be notified as soon as entries formally open.
Both events will start and finish at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham and will use almost identical bike and run courses as this year. The bike courses will be as this year and the Outlaw run course will be slightly tweaked following feedback from athletes.
The Outlaw covers a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile marathon run. With a simple out and back swim course, a mostly flat bike course and flat riverside run, the Outlaw offers the prospect of fast times.
The Outlaw Half shares the same infrastructure and most of the same course as the full distance event. Both events sold out in a matter of days last year and interest in the 2014 events suggest that the same could happen again this year.
The Outlaw 2013 will feature on Channel 4 TV on Sunday morning, 25 August.
