Recognising the increasing popularity of triathlon in the UK, leading multisport race organiser Human Race has put together an offer for triathletes that guarantees race entry to next year’s, ever-popular, Windsor Triathlon 2014.
Human Race, the UK’s largest mass participation sports events company and organiser of the now sold-out 2013 Toshiba Windsor Triathlon, is offering triathletes the opportunity to be included in a priority booking window for the 2014 event and effectively guarantee their place.
To qualify, athletes should enter two Human Race 2013 triathlons at Dorney Lake before 1 July. They will then be offered a priority entry period for the prestigious 2014 Windsor Triathlon.
With increasing numbers of people entering more than one triathlon each year, Human Race notes that this latest move will offer those taking the sport more seriously a reward of a priority window into the seven times British Triathlon Federation ‘Event of the year’.
To be eligible for the priority booking period, participants will need to have entered two Human Race triathlon events, which take place at Dorney Lake, before the 1 July. The offer will include 2013 events that have already been participated in, as well as future 2013 events, providing that the participant has signed up for both events before the 1 July deadline.
Human Race is organising 11 triathlons at Dorney Lake this year including the new Wiggle Tri Challenge on Sunday 26 May, with a range of distances for triathletes of all abilities and an early season Olympic Distance race, and a number of September triathlons including the Diamond Triathlon on the 8th, supported by Olympic Legend Daley Thompson.
The Toshiba Windsor Triathlon has been awarded the BTF’s ‘Event of the Year’ a remarkable seven times. These awards, voted for by the British Triathlon Federation’s members, place the event on a pedestal in Great Britain: it has claimed six BTF awards in the last seven years, including scooping the double of BTF Event of the Year as well as the inaugural 220 Triathlon Magazine award for Race of the Year.
The event attracts a mix of both elite and amateur triathletes and this year the event will also double up as the Elite National Triathlon Championships. Seen on television for the last six years, the race is expected to be back on TV screens again this year and several thousand spectators will pack the streets to watch the race on a summer morning in June.
A handful of relay places are still available for the 2013 Toshiba Windsor Triathlon, which takes places on 16 June.
