Last year due to the lack of XTERRA Points Series races in the Northeast United States, the Northeast and Atlantic regions merged into one super-sized region. This year, with the addition of the inaugural XTERRA French River off-road tri in Boston, Massachusetts, and the return of XTERRA Garnet Hill in New York, the Northeast has six races, enough to re-establish the Northeast region.
XTERRA’s new regional structure is therefore as follows:
- NORTHEAST (NE) – Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York
- ATLANTIC (AT) – Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington DC
- SOUTHEAST (SE) – Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands
- MIDWEST (MW) – Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky
- SOUTHCENTRAL (SC) – Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas
- MOUNTAIN (MT) – Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming
- NORTHWEST (NW) – Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska
- WEST (W) – California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Pacific Territories
