SURAL is the latest sponsor of the Challenge Barcelona event and has formed an apparel partnership with the Challenge Family in Spain. The Spanish technical apparel specialist will also design and manufacture merchandise for the three main Challenge Family events in Spain this year: 2013 Half Challenge Barcelona, Challenge Barcelona-Maresme and the new Challenge Vitoria in the historic Basque town of Vitoria.
Following an award by the European Triathlon Union (ETU), the ETU European Half Distance Championships will also take place at the Half Challenge Barcelona-Maresme, which will be held on 19 May 2013.
The full distance Challenge Barcelona-Maresme takes place on 6 October 2013. Challenge Vitoria – a recent addition to the Challenge Family global series of long distance triathlons – takes place on 28 July 2013. Vitoria is billed as the ‘European Green Capital’ with more green space per capita than any other European city and the spectacular course makes the most of this stunning location. Designed in conjunction with local triathlete Eneko Llanos, the course features a 3.8K swim in the Ullibarri-Gamboa Lake in the beautiful Landa Provincial Park.
