Long-distance triathlon, The Outlaw, has been crowned ‘Race of the Year’ by readers of UK triathlon website Beyond Going Long.
In a hotly contested vote that ran for 3 weeks on the long distance focused tri-site, readers awarded the Nottingham-based race their event of the year with 37.8% of the total vote. This is the latest in a series of tri-awards for the event organisers One Step Beyond, who deliver several multisport races alongside the flagship Outlaw event.
The race for second place went right down to the wire between Forestman and Challenge Henley – with the smaller race edging the premium branded Challenge Family race into third by an incredibly narrow margin of just 2 votes.
Rich Campbell, Editor of Beyond Going Long said “I was delighted for Outlaw to win this award as they have consistently delivered an excellent race that is exciting to compete in and follow. They are deserving winners, but we are really lucky in this country to have so many races that could have walked away with the title.
The ‘event winner’s podium’ finished as follows:
1. Outlaw 37.86%
2. Forestman 20.06%
3. Challenge Henley 19.42%
