Science in Sport in new partnership with pro triathlete Helen Jenkins

Science in Sport (SiS) has confirmed the signing of Helen Jenkins as brand ambassador for the company – helping to further align the sports nutrition brand with the growing UK triathlete community. Helen Jenkins, Great Britain’s leading female triathlete, won the ITU World Championship in 2011 and 2008 and finished 5th for Team GB in last summer’s London 2012 Olympics, the highest position ever achieved by a female British triathlete at the Olympic Games.

She is widely regarded as one of the most consistent performers at the ITU World Triathlon Series (ITU WTS) with regular finishes on the podium, and consistently high ranking across the board.

The deal, which runs until the end of 2016, will see Helen Jenkins work closely with Science in Sport and their team of experts in hydration and nutrition to help her perform to her maximum both in training and competition. Helen will use a range of the brand’s leading energy, recovery and hydration products. These include: SiS GO Gels (‘the world’s first isotonic gels to deliver fast energy without the need for water’), SiS GO Electrolyte and products from the successful SiS REGO recovery range.

As brand ambassador for SiS, Helen will make appearances to help promote the brand’s wide range of leading endurance nutrition products as well as appearing on the SiS website and providing relevant content for use on the brand’s social media channels.

Stephen Moon, Managing Director at SiS said, “We are delighted to announce this new partnership and to be working with Helen Jenkins, as SiS becomes an integral part of her endurance nutrition ritual. Helen is an incredibly dedicated and talented athlete who has proven her pedigree on the international stage. Her passion and motivation for sport is inspiring and we felt that her insight into the world of endurance training and sports nutrition would both inform and motivate the thousands of amateur athletes in the UK.”

Speaking from her home in Bridgend, GB triathlete Helen Jenkins said, “Having the support of SiS throughout my training and competition schedule will help to fuel my performance, and I’m really excited to be a part of the SiS team. Competing at London 2012 was an incredible experience and despite not having achieved the result I had hoped for, I learnt a lot in my time there.

“I now have my sights set on the Commonwealth Games in two years time and then Rio in 2016, and I am very excited about SiS being a part of this journey with me.”

SiS provides nutritional products for preparation, performance and recovery to help endurance athletes perform at their best.

SiS supports teams and individuals in various endurance sports – in particular cycling, triathlon, rowing and running. SiS is official sports nutrition supplier to Rapha Condor JLT; Official Supplier of Sports Drinks and Sports Nutrition to the GB Rowing Teams and has Olympic and World Champion cyclist Rebecca Romero MBE as an official brand ambassador.
