Following confirmation that the XTERRA England Championship weekend will be televised as a 1-hour highlights show on Channel 4, with extensive replays throughout the year on the Channel 4 network, Sky Sports and Eurosport – the new event is seeking sponsor and partnership opportunities.

The XTERRA England Championship weekend of off-road triathlon and endurance sport racing is seeking commercial and sporting partners in what is set to be a historic first year of racing. The race is set in the heart of the South East of England in the stunning surroundings of the Vachery Estate in Cranleigh, Surrey, on the weekend of the 7-8 September 2013.

The XTERRA England Championship weekend looks forward to welcoming over a thousand active triathletes, mountain bikers and open water swimmers. The main championship race encompasses a 1.5K swim, 30K bike and 10K run. In addition the weekend will première: a ‘Try an Xtri’ Sprint triathlon, a multi-lap 6-hour endurance mountain bike race, mountain bike team relay race, and the 1.5K and 3K open water swims that form the concluding events of the H2Open Water Swim Series.

The race offers sponsors and commercial partners ‘the chance to reach thousands, if not millions of active, affluent individuals through direct branding and audience interaction with additional television coverage of the race.’

The XTERRA England Championship weekend will be filmed and screened in a 1 hour long highlights programme on Channel 4, before being repeated extensively throughout the year on the Channel 4 network, Sky Sports and Eurosport, delivering brands associated with the event the opportunity to get in front of millions of households.

The event also has a media partner in the form of 220 Triathlon Magazine, ‘the UK’s number one selling triathlon magazine’, and as an international event, is expected to receive year-round coverage in the triathlon and mainstream media. As noted by the race organisers, ‘the TV exposure alone makes this a fantastic value package for any brand looking to partner within the aspirational world of sport.’

The profiles of athletes attending XTERRA England vary from the most dedicated professional, to a weekend warrior giving triathlon or mountain bike racing a go for the first-time. Common traits are a group of highly motivated and affluent individuals who are committed to enjoying a healthy lifestyle.

XTERRA England notes that triathlon is the fastest growing sport in the UK with 31% participation growth per year and 20% of triathletes completing their first triathlon in 2012.

There are a range of partnership opportunities for a brand to be associated with the globally recognised XTERRA series of events, as well as playing an important and recognisable part in each athlete’s journey towards completing an XTERRA triathlon. Sponsorship of the XTERRA England Championship festival will deliver brand leverage over a number of months and ‘an indelible brand experience to deservedly proud finishers and a captive live and TV audience.’

Packages available include those specially tailored to local businesses offering entry level exposure and an on-site expo, through to title sponsorship offering year-round coverage and a global TV market. These can be tailored to meet the differing needs of the interested parties.
