‘Triathlon Specific Geometry’ from Ceepo gets a fresh pair of legs in the UK

After a much anticipated wait, UK distributor Velotech Services has returned Ceepo triathlon bikes to the UK market. And causing much head-turning at the Cycle Show in Birmingham this September, Ceepo’s latest range of triathlon specific bikes still cater to all levels of tri racing – from short distance to full Ironman disciplines.

All of the 2014 Ceepo models feature ‘Triathlon Specific Geometry’ developed to reduce the output produced by an athlete’s legs, leaving them fresher for the following run.

After long periods of wind tunnel testing, each Ceepo frame is moulded to reduce drag and increase speed. Frames feature the latest in racing tech, including: press-fit bottom brackets, disc and integrated aero brake mounts and internal cable routing for electric transmissions.

Framesets are available with Rotor cranks and Q-rings exclusively through Velotech Services and the distributor’s selected UK partner stores. Aerodynamic, carbon fibre race-ready frames are available from £1399 RRP.

Triathlon Specific Ceepo frames are designed to conserve energy whilst increasing pedalling efficiency. All bikes aim to provide a better aerodynamic position and deliver an athlete to the run with fresh legs. Positioned as not just time trial bikes – stability, speed and comfort are prioritised.

Ceepo frames thus aim to greatly reduce stress to a rider’s body, helping them to maintain speed over long distances.

Ceepo Viper

  • Geometry is designed specifically for long distance triathlon races where athletes need to run comfortably after an 180km bike ride, with special consideration for Ironman racing
  • Integrated front end: improved aerodynamics; improved front end stiffness and adjustability
  • Stemplate: new innovative stemplate offers 3 virtual stem length (5 / 7,2 / 9,4) and stack range of 8 cm (with Profile Aeria bars)
  • Front brake: Ceepo’s new integrated fork accepts discs brakes as well as traditional centre bolt callipers and also the new type of direct mount callipers from Shimano and others
  • TTV rear callipers: simple, light and aerodynamic (fits wider rims)
  • Reversible seat post with internal Di2 battery adaptor: allowing a great range of saddle position, Ceepo’s reversible seat post is designed to receive the Shimano Di2 battery inside
  • Headset 1-1/8” – 1-1/4”
  • Brake front / rear brake calipers
  • Frame 100% 40T high-modulus carbon frame 1,350g
  • Fork full carbon fork 680g
  • BB Type BB 386

Katana

  • Geometry tailored for long and middle distance (226K & 113K) triathlon competitions
  • Stiff and light: lowered downtube hidden behind fork crown, big chainstays and simple tube shapes
  • Designed to be ‘one of the lightest stiffest and most efficient long distance triathlon frames on the market; hilly courses or flat courses. The Katana will help you face any challenge.’
  • TTV rear calipers: simple light and aerodynamic (fits wider rims)
  • Reversible seat post: allowing for a range of saddle positions
  • Electric shifting ready

Venom

  • For high powered triathletes looking for long distance comfort, ‘the Venom is slightly more compliant than the Viper but still incredibly stiff.’ According to Ceepo, the down tube has the highest aspect ratio in the market making it slice through the wind. Its geometry assures that an optimal aerodynamic body position can be maintained during many hours of riding and that leg fatigue is minimized to assure optimal running after the bike
  • Stiff and comfortable: ‘comfortable and still very stiff for great power transfer’, allowing the rider to maintain optimal aero position for long hours while keeping leg fatigue to a minimum
  • Electric shifting ready
  • Headset 1-1/8”
  • Rear brake calipers
  • Frame 100% 40T high-modulus carbon 1,600g
  • Full carbon fork 525g
  • BB Type Regular BB

Mamba

  • According to Ceepo, the Mamba’s super stable geometry is designed for perfect handling at high speed. ‘This is the best bike for entering the triathlon world, just add clip-ons and go to the races!’
  • Reversible seat post: allows a great range of position; from classic road to triathlon forward saddle positioning
  • Aero tubes: truncated airfoil shape tubes for  aerodynamics while keeping stiffness and weight values of a non-aero frame
  • PF30 BB: PF30 versatile BB standard accepts nearly all cranksets available on the market
  • Electric shifting ready
  • Headset 1-1/8” – 1-1/4”
  • Frame: high-modulus carbon 1080g
  • Full carbon fork 420g
  • BB type PF30
