USA Triathlon Women’s Committee awards grants to further women’s specific triathlon

The USA Triathlon Women’s Committee has announced that it has awarded US$1,500 matching reimbursable grants to two programs: Crossgates Multi-Sport in Slidell, Louisiana, and the Mullica Hill Women’s Tri Club in Mullica Hill, New Jersey.

The grants will be used to help support and further the growth of the organisation’s women-specific triathlon programs.

“Crossgates Multi-Sport and Mullica Hill Women’s Tri Club have demonstrated strong programs with a commitment to empowering women whether they are just entering the sport of triathlon or experienced age group competitors,” said Tara Comer, Chair of USA Triathlon’s Women’s Committee.

She added that Lana Fountain, the WC Grants Program Coordinator, has worked with the committee to revamp and grow the current grant program.

“We look forward to offering more matching reimbursable grants to exceptional programs like these and in addition, we will be announcing new grant opportunities for women in leadership roles soon,” said Comer.
