Vachery Triathlon sponsors Everyday Training Camps 2014

The Vachery Triathlon Festival, held in Cranleigh in Surrey,UK, on 19-20 July 2014, has announced a partnership with Everyday Training Camps, organised by pro triathlete Joanna Carritt.

The partnership extends to the established annual endurance training camp held in Puerto Del Carmen – home of Ironman Lanzarote – between 8-15 March 2014. This camp is led by Joanna Carritt and elite age group triathlete Steven Lord.

The Lanzarote camp is a week of highly focused triathlon training in a dynamic group environment where participants will train daily with top-age groupers and under the watchful eye of experienced and friendly coaches.

During the week, points will be awarded by the coaches to reward top performances in the training events and handicapped races. The overall camp winner will receive a free entry into one of the Vachery Triathlon races, which include a Super Sprint ‘Try a Tri’, Standard distance triathlon and ‘the marquee half-iron race’ all being held on 20 July 2014.

The rest of the camp attendees will receive goodies, t-shirts and a 10% discount on race entries to the Vachery Triathlon 2014, as well as prizes for individual events provided by the camp’s other sponsors.

Joanna Carritt said “We’re delighted to be partnering with the Vachery Triathlon for our next Endurance Training Camp. It is one of the biggest and best new races in the UK and will be a fantastic target race for those training with us to aim towards.”

She continued, “This training camp will provide triathletes with a fantastic big endurance base in one of the best training facilities in the world, which makes it ideal preparation to take on the Vachery Triathlon or any of the other big middle or long distance races in the world.”

As well coaching her age groupers to be successful at the race, Jo Carritt will be competing and is one of the favourites to take the Vachery Triathlon title from Lucy Gossage who won the race in 2013. As well as the prestigious title up for grabs, the race has ‘the biggest prize pot for a half-iron distance triathlon at £10K’, which is expected to attract a high-quality field.

The event promises to offer something for everyone, with on-site camping within the Vachery Estate; an exhibitor’s area featuring the latest in triathlon gear and produce from local suppliers; plus fun activities for all the family.

Athletes and their families can enjoy a pasta-party in the evening before the race and even get fuelled up with the event’s racers breakfast on race-day morning.

The Vachery Estate is located just outside the picturesque village of Cranleigh in the Surrey Hills, only minutes from London and the motorways, M25, M23 and M3.
