XLAB signs 2x ITU Long Course World Champ Caroline Steffen

Hot on the heels of signing 2012 Ironman and IM 70.3 Champion Leanda Cave, XLAB, a leader in aerodynamic hydration and storage systems, has confirmed Caroline Steffen as the latest member on the growing list of XLAB sponsored champions. Steffen, the 2x Ironman European Champion and 2x second place finisher at the Ironman World Championships in Kona ‘will exclusively use XLAB products for her hydration and storage needs for multiple years.’

Caroline Steffen has proven she is a strong cyclist and with this new partnership she will be using XLAB aerodynamic hydration and storage for her bike. XLAB offers specifically designed aerodynamic hydration carriers and aero bags for Cervélo bicycles and with Caroline riding popular tri bike, the Cervélo P5, the partnership is seen as a perfect fit.

“My nutrition in an Ironman is crucial for my performance,” said Steffen. “XLAB products allow me to secure my nutrition easily onto my bike, access it easily and they look great too.”

Craig Turner, XLAB’s founder and designer, couldn’t wait for an opportunity to support Caroline Steffen. “With such a rapid rise, while winning two World Championships and coming second twice in the Ironman World Championships, we are thrilled to have Caroline on board. Caroline, often known as ‘XENA’ represents the persistence that long distance events require.”

Caroline has already at a fantastic start to her 2013 season, with a second place finish at Ironman 70.3 Auckland. With Kona in her scopes and partnering with XLAB, ‘a company that has garnered 24 World Championships in its 20-year history’, Caroline hopes to put her name among the legends of the sport.

XLAB has been an innovator and important part of the triathlon industry for 20 years, helping athletes win 24 World Championships. The company’s engineers passionately design, analyze and test the hydration and storage systems – allowing for ‘extremely light and yet extraordinarily reliable products that are unmatched in design, technology and style.’
