Multisport Performance Institute (MPI) has opened registration for its Spring Triathlon Training Camp on 25-29 March 2015. The camp offers the opportunity for triathletes to train with elite level coaches at the picturesque Portofino Island Resort in Florida, which is billed as an ideal destination for multisport training.
MPI notes that the four day training camp will provide a jump-start on the competition for the 2015 race season.
Camp swim venues, each just a short walk from the onsite Sky Home accommodations, include a 25m indoor pool, the calm protected waters of the Santa Rosa Sound, and the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Cycling and run training will take place on the paved roadways and separated running paths of the scenic Gulf Islands National Seashore and Fort Pickens National Park, offering ‘flat, fast and virtually traffic-free roads, unforgettable views, inspiration, and motivation.’
Athletes can elect to bring their families, as Portofino Island Resort is a destination unto itself, with a full offering of beach-front and water activities, sports, dining and spa services to keep the family entertained while the athletes train. The spacious and exquisitely appointed Sky Homes provide breath-taking views of the Gulf of Mexico or Santa Rosa Sound.
The all-inclusive camp provides airport transfers, accommodations, all meals, training nutrition and hydration, bike fit analysis, run gait and video analysis, swim video analysis, sports psychology consultation, and all swim/bike/run training and coaching. The camp will conclude with an opportunity to demonstrate new skills at a practice super sprint triathlon. A full schedule is available online on the camp page of TeamMPI.com.
Team MPI coaches have been offering multisport camps since 2010 including iron distance race-venue preparation camps (IM Florida, Texas, Chattanooga) and camps for athletes with Team Semper Fi, Challenged Athletes Foundation, USA Paratriathlon and the National Paratriathlon team.
The Team MPI Spring Training Camp welcomes triathletes who train or race any distance – sprint through iron distance – and who seek to improve their swim, bike and run performance. In addition, the camp will offer sports psychology, nutrition/hydration, and race preparation sessions. Discounts are offered for groups of athletes who book together.
The camp will be led by USAT Level 2 coaches Mark Sortino and John Murray with support from the Team MPI coaching staff.
