Aqua Sphere dives in to support Macmillan

Aqua Sphere has confirmed it is backing Macmillan Cancer Support, the nominated national charity for the [Aqua Sphere sponsored] Great Swim series of open water swim events across the UK. Aqua Sphere is offering discounted wetsuits for anyone participating in a 2014 Great Swim to raise money for the charity.

Macmillan works across the UK offering practical, medical and financial support to people affected by cancer. It has successfully worked alongside the Great Swim series for the past three years and was recently chosen as the Series Official Charity. Aqua Sphere has been the official swim kit partner to Great Swim since the event series started.

‘The largest open water swim series in Europe’, attracting more and more entries every year, the first Great Swim of 2014 was the Great North Swim at Windermere in June. At full capacity, over 10,000 people took part over a weekend bathed in spectacular sunshine. The Great East Swim at Alton Water in Ipswich took place on 21 June attracting 2,000 swimmers.

The Great Manchester Swim at Salford Quays takes place on 19 July; the Great Scottish Swim in Loch Lomond gets under way on 23 August; and the Great London Swim splashes down on 30 August.

Event distances range from half mile, one mile, two miles or 5K and swimmers of all ages can participate individually or as a team.

Aqua Sphere is the official swim kit partner to mass participation challenges such as the Great Swim, alongside the Ecover Blue Mile and it is a regular supporter of the RNLI charity and the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Headley Court for injured members of the British Armed Forces.

The brand’s comprehensive product range includes swimwear, goggles, tri wetsuits, bags, caps and performance training and aquatic exercise kits. It is part of the global Aqua Lung International Group, which includes brands such as Aqua Lung, the name that first introduced the world to scuba diving, and Apeks, one of the world’s premium providers of diving regulators.
