ASICS glows in the dark as title sponsor of Neon Run UK

Sport 3 Event Management UK has confirmed ASICS UK as the new title sponsor of two Neon Run UK events. ASICS will lend its name and support to the ‘night-time spectacular’ that is ASICS Neon Run, launching in the UK this October.

The deal will see ASICS as the naming rights sponsor of the two events at Sunderland and Leeds in 2014 with the opportunity to extend the partnership to further events currently being developed.

As part of the deal, ASICS will be the title sponsor and exclusive footwear and technical apparel category sponsors of the events. The ‘brilliant lights and colours of Neon Run’ are seen to ‘perfectly reflect some of the latest ASICS footwear range and apparel ensuring Neon runners travel the distance in comfort and look the part.’

Cathy McGinnis, UK and Ireland Marketing Manager from ASICS, said “We are delighted with the partnership with the Neon Run event series. This is an excellent opportunity for us to highlight our innovative footwear, apparel and unique brand attributes to runners of all abilities.”

Neon Run is a 5K night-time run with four unique on-course neon zones of rock, disco, pop and iconic British music featuring lasers, black lights, strobes, dancers, and DJs to keep runners entertained along the course. Neon Run events are currently held across Australia and South America and can attract more than 10,000 people to each neon-charged event.

The event is set to light up the UK this year with ‘the most innovative and mind blowing fun run, dance party ever seen’ on Saturday 18 October in Leeds and Saturday 25 October in Sunderland.

Neon Run is positioned as an ultimate night-time event experience; and Sport 3 Event Management UK is committed to bringing these unique types of events to as many communities as possible.

Trent Taylor, Managing Director Sales and Marketing for Sport 3 Event Management UK, said the partnership with ASICS is great news for the event.

“Our participant experience is always our number one priority so it’s fantastic to have ASICS, the brand that is synonymous with runners and joggers around the world, join us in developing these brilliant mass participation events,” said Taylor.

“Every participant has the opportunity to create their own Neon look and with the footwear and apparel range on offer from ASICS to the thousands of participants will definitely live up to our hash tag ‘Lightupthenight’,” he added.

Entries for Neon Run UK are now open at the event website. Participants can enter as individuals or as part of a team of four or more friends and family. Teams of four or more registering together receive a 10% discount on entry fees.
