ATEC Expo has teamed up with Fastlane Pools to give show visitors the opportunity to observe and correct their swimming stroke right on the exhibition floor. As part of the partnership, a Fastlane Pool will be installed at the ATEC Expo for show visitors to take the plunge.
Billed as ‘The Ultimate Multisport Expo’, the inaugural Australian Triathlon, Endurance & Cycling (ATEC) Expo has been confirmed to take place in Sydney, Australia, on 4-5 July 2015.
Fast Lane Pools will be an exhibitor in the expo’s Swim Zone, which is seen as a draw card not only for show visitors but also for exhibiting swimwear, goggle and wetsuit providers to know that visitors will have the opportunity to test their products.
According to ATEC Expo organiser Informa Australia, triathletes praise Fastlane Pools ‘for developing endurance, for bringing at-home convenience to swim training, for the real-time feedback of its swim mirrors, and for its unparalleled simulation of open water swimming.’ A pioneer in swim-in-place technology, Fastlane Pools deliver a smooth, steady, river-like current that lets the swimmer swim uninterrupted to better develop open-water endurance and technique.
Olympic Gold Medallist Alistair Brownlee and Olympian swimmer Susie O’Neill both train with the Elite model, which features Fastlane’s widest, deepest, and fastest current, maxing at a 0:56/100-metre pace. Many leading triathlon stores and coaches have installed Fastlane Pools to provide their clients with tools to improve their swim technique.
Fastlane Pools’ underwater mirrors allow a swimmer to monitor stroke and make improvements in real time. With the addition of an underwater camera for video analysis, swim stroke can be corrected or even compared to the technique of world-class triathletes. Fastlane also notes that ‘because the pool is so compact, temperature control is more affordable than for full-sized pools, even with year-round operation.’
Put together by Informa Australia – ‘Australia’s leading conference, exhibition & training organiser’ – the ATEC Expo’s organising team note that the sport of triathlon is booming in Australia… ‘Not a weekend passes without a competitive event taking place somewhere. Similarly, cycling at both a professional and recreational level is rapidly growing.’
With a continual boom in endurance sport participation – and with Australia remaining one of the world’s key triathlon markets – Informa has developed the inaugural ATEC Expo to tap into demand amongst the endurance sport community Down Under. The exhibition is accompanied by a comprehensive seminar program specifically developed for the triathlete, cyclist and endurance athlete. According to Informa, it is the first event of its kind outside of a competitive event.
In addition to seminars, the ATEC exhibition will feature suppliers showcasing products, technology and services across seven dedicated zones.
The seminar program itself will feature workshops from professional triathletes, cyclists, swimmers and coaches who will provide expert advice on a range of training, nutrition and lifestyle topics.
