Award winning Veglo lights up the Cycle Show

This week, Veglo will be launching the Commuter X4, a wearable, fibre optic rear light, during the Cycle Show 2014 at the Birmingham NEC (stand A54). Opening its doors from the 26-28 September, The Cycle Show 2014 returns with a host of new stands and activity areas.

Veglo’s award-winning safety light, the Commuter X4, is a fibre optic light worn over cyclists’ shoulders to create a unique illuminated shape aiding drivers to judge the distance, width and speed of cyclists and motorcyclists more quickly and accurately.

Praised by leading technology magazine Wired for its ground-breaking and flexible design, the Commuter X4 adjusts to be worn over a backpack or directly on the shoulders and is USB rechargeable, water-resistant and durable.

The company was founded by passionate cyclist Ed Ward, 27, after he was knocked off his bike from behind and thrown into a busy four-way junction in London. He’s been on a mission to bring more powerful, practical and affordable lights to cyclists ever since.

The Commuter X4 has certainly proven its popularity in the marketplace, having smashed its initial target to reach 120% funding on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter in April, and allowing it to roll out large scale production of the fibre optic light, which will be in stores this winter.

Since April 2014, the light has lit a blazing trail..
