The final event in the Borders Sport and Leisure Triathlon Series – Eyemouth in Berwickshire, in the Scottish Borders area – will take place on Sunday 21 September.
The series – which includes six triathlons: Galashiels, Selkirk, Peebles, Hawick, Kelso and Eyemouth; and two duathlons (Tweedbank and Peebles) – has attracted tremendous support from local Borders athletes and participants from further afield.
The final event at Eyemouth will feature a main sprint triathlon and also a ‘come and tri’ shorter course event for new participants. It will comprise a 750m swim (400m for come & tri), 20.65K cycle (9.74K for come & tri) and 5K run (2.5K for come & tri).
Ewan Jackson, Chief Executive of Borders Sport and Leisure said “This year’s Borders Triathlon Series has yet again been a great success. Virtually every event has run at capacity, demonstrating the increasing levels of interest in this sport.
“Participating in a triathlon is demanding but is also great fun and so very rewarding. The come and tri sessions are proving really valuable in introducing newcomers to the sport and I’d like to thank everyone involved in the organisation of this year’s events. It is their efforts and the fabulous welcome they give competitors, that has led to the BSLT Triathlon Series being so highly regarded.”
