‘Do I need my bike light?’ new site from Blaze has the answers

Two years ago the Blaze Laserlight was introduced to the world via a Kickstarter campaign. Company co-founders Emily Brooke and Will Dunk had just 30 days to tell the world via Kickstarter about their idea for a better bike light and, in doing so, raise the necessary cash to fund the first ever batch of Laserlight products.

The company now has hundreds of backers that it considers friends all over the world.

Blaze is now in the midst of its first winter/bike light season and has a goal to introduce the Laserlight to as many people as possible – from commuters, through to competitive cyclists and triathletes.

Helping to spread the word about its bike light, Blaze has also developed the ‘Do I need my bike light?’ website. The site works wherever you are in the world – and helps to answer other key questions, such as ‘Will it get dark before I get home?’

Utilizing laser projection, the Laserlight aims to mitigate the biggest cause of cycling fatality – being caught in a blind spot – by projecting the symbol of a bike onto the road six metres ahead of the cyclist. The projection gives the rider a larger footprint and serves as an early warning to vehicles and pedestrians that a bike is approaching.

The Blaze Laserlight has 13 hours battery life, is USB chargeable and 100% waterproof. It has an RRP of £125, with free delivery to anywhere in the world.

Blaze is also currently running a special Christmas campaign to help the fight against Ebola. The company will donate to the fight against Ebola for every rider that tells Santa all they want for Christmas is a Laserlight!
