The British Sprint Triathlon Championships take place at the Human Race organised Eton Sprints event on Saturday 17 May 2014 with a field of over 700 competitors all racing to win the first British age-group titles of the season.
The event will see triathletes race at the iconic London 2012 Olympic Rowing venue of Dorney Lake, a location that is well known as one of the UK’s fastest courses. Competitors will begin with a 750m swim in the clear waters of Eton Dorney, before embarking on 21.2K bike around the regatta lake.
The bike course is relatively flat, which will leave no time for athletes to take it easy before they enter T2 and head out onto a 5K sprint for the finish line.
All of this season’s British Age-Group Championships will be hosting live timing for competitors’ friends and family to follow their progress throughout the event. Live timing for Eton Dorney will be available on www.britishtriathlon.org from the first wave start time of 08:40 GMT.
The event is the first of four British Age-Group Championships this season with the next opportunity to win a coveted British title at the British Triathlon Championships Liverpool on 10 August, followed by the British Middle Distance Championships in Aberfeldy on 17 August and finally the British Duathlon Championships at Emberton Country Park on 12 October.
