Having already worked for Challenge Family when the Challenge brand of long distance triathlons was in its early years, Markus Englert has re-joined Team Challenge GmbH.
Markus first started as a trainee, later as a working student, then he was a specialist responsible for drafting athletes’ contracts, presentations of all kinds ‘and thousands of other things’. From 1 January 2014, Markus Englert now has the permanent position of Head of Administration.
He will take over a key function within TeamChallenge, as he will see to controlling and workflow of the family-run business in Roth, Germany. In addition, he will also work for the Challenge Family on issues such as international contracts and controlling.
After his studies in business administration, Markus Englert from Würzburg moved to the west of Germany, where he took on a job as an M&A Consultant with Transforce Mergers & Acquisitions GmbH in Düsseldorf. Later, he worked in real estate functional controlling with Thalia Holding GmbH in Hagen.
He has always kept a close link to the Challenge Family. As the family run company noted, ‘though he has been quite busy in his main job, he has always been there to help TeamChallenge with all kinds of problems in the evenings or at the weekends – no matter how unusual they were.’
The Walchshöfers family and all Markus’ colleagues are pleased to finally welcome Markus Englert, ‘a real pioneer of the Challenge event’, as a permanent member of the core team in 2014. As the company notes, ‘Now the time has come for Markus – and it was about time, too!’
