Over 1,000 Grandstand tickets to watch the ITU World Triathlon Championship elite races on Saturday 31 May in Hyde Park, London, sold out in less than an hour, organiser Lagardère Unlimited Events has confirmed.
A limited amount of tickets went on sale last week to individuals who pre-registered for a priority booking window. On Monday 21 April at 10:00, a further batch of tickets was released on general sale via Ticketmaster. Tickets will be available at £25 per adult and £10 for children plus booking fees.
This year, Lagardère notes that spectating the ITU World Triathlon Championship elite races promises to be an even greater spectacle than ever before. For the first time, both elite male and female races will be staged back to back over the shorter Sprint Distance (750m swim, 20K bike, 5K run), providing a compelling spectator experience for fans.
Both races are scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday 31 May on the compact and spectator friendly course in Hyde Park, with fans able to watch two world-class sporting events within a two and a half hour window.
It’s also not too late to make a weekend of it and enter the age group races taking place on the following day – on Sunday 1 June. Whether athletes choose to take part in the Super Sprint, Sprint or Olympic distance, they will enjoy the unique experience of competing on the same iconic route as the elites. Lagardère also notes that with over six weeks until the event, there’s still plenty of time to get in shape for the big day.
