US National Team member, Olympian and 2014 ITU World Champion Gwen Jorgensen has announced the recipients of the 2014 Gwen Jorgensen Scholarship, created to assist junior draft-legal triathletes and paratriathletes in their pursuit of excellence in the sport.
More than US$20,000 was awarded to applicants who demonstrated financial need, creative use of funds and passion for the multisport lifestyle. Ten individuals, three teams and one race production company were among over 100 applications received and awarded a share of the scholarship.
The scholarship was made possible through contributions and support from Jorgensen, USA Triathlon Foundation, Jorgensen’s wetsuit sponsor ROKA and the New York Athletic Club.

The Gwen Jorgensen Scholarship will continue in 2015-16. In support of the fund for 2015, a limited number of autographed 16×24″ prints are available, and 100% of the proceeds will support the scholarship fund. The cost of each print is tax deductible. More information about the application process will be made available in late 2015.
Jorgensen, who competed in the London 2012 Olympic Games, is currently ranked number one in the world following four consecutive 2014 ITU World Triathlon Series wins in Hamburg, Chicago, London and Yokohama.
A former collegiate runner and swimmer, Jorgensen was introduced to draft-legal triathlon in 2010 through the USA Triathlon Collegiate Recruitment Program.
