Hydrapak, the global manufacturer of innovative hydration systems, has recently completed a significant expansion of its Oakland-based headquarters, doubling the size of the California facility. This is in anticipation of the company’s growing SoftFlask reservoir and insulated bottle distribution within the US.
The 10,000 square foot eco-friendly facility features a new in-house photo studio, an expanded quality control testing lab, as well as storage space for increased product inventory. An additional 1,000 square foot office space, two common areas and enlarged development quarters will more comfortably accommodate the 10-person staff and anticipated employee growth.
“Being a lifestyle company, we strive to create an environment that fuels creativity, active living and fun,” said Hydrapak President Matt Lyon. “We wanted to stay true to the company’s wellness-oriented culture, so the new sun-lit offices feature ergonomic stand-up desks and showers for employees who run or bike during the day.”
The expansion comes on the heels of Hydrapak’s new partnership with national US retailer, R.E.I., which selected the company’s award winning SoftFlasks to headline in its ‘First to Market’ program, selling exclusively at all 129 REI stores through May 2014.
The collapsible SoftFlasks are available through R.E.I. for US customers and can be ordered at www.rei.com.
The Hydrapak brand was originally introduced to satisfy the growing demand from athletes for personal hydration systems. Hydrapak produces a line-up of custom-built hydration backpacks, reservoirs and bottles for a variety of sports, including skiing/riding, biking, hiking and running.
Founded in 2001, Hydrapak is also an OEM for top manufacturers specializing in consumer, commercial and military purposes.
