International bicycle exhibition Eurobike organizes first Eurobike Media Days

Eurobike’s key customers and media are being invited to new ‘Eurobike Media Days’, which will run next year from 30 June to 2 July 2015, in Kirchberg in Tirol, Austria. This new event runs ahead of the main Eurobike trade show, which takes place in Friedrichshafen, Germany, from 26-29 August 2015.

Manufacturers across the cycling sports segment will present their new model year 2016 offerings to media representatives and trade invitees.

“We want to offer the cycling industry and media representatives another platform long before the actual exhibition date in order to present to an exclusive group of media representatives,” said Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann, explaining the newly created side event for the main Eurobike trade fair.

The aim is to bring together many individual presentations of the manufacturers together also for economic reasons. “We can create synergies and provide added value for our partners on the manufacturing and media side,” said Eurobike Area Manager Stefan Reisinger in response to many preliminary discussions with brands and trade editors.

For the implementation of the Eurobike Media Days, the Eurobike Team has been expanded to include Christina Kulling as Project Coordinator. Christina Kulling comes from Specialized, where she was responsible for the organization of European dealer events over the last four years and thus is seen to have precisely the right qualifications for the implementation of the Eurobike Media Days.

Eurobike notes that many medium-sized and large bike manufacturers from the sports segment had tried in recent years to individually invite the trade journalists to press events before Eurobike.

The trade show added that, between April and July, the trade editors usually receive up to 30 different invitations to premiere presentations. According to many trade journalists, it is no longer feasible to attend them all. For the bicycle manufacturers, these events are associated with high costs and enormous amounts of staff time.

‘We are confident that the Eurobike Media Days will be a good alternative for many of our customers,’ said the exhibition team.

“For us, this media event is a good opportunity to present the cycling paradise of Tyrol in conjunction with new and innovative products in the industry,” said Tirol Werbung CEO Josef Margreiter.

Preparations for Eurobike 2015 are already in full swing. Relocation of the Eurobike Demo Day from the Allgäu directly to the fairgrounds in Friedrichshafen met with approval by the participating manufacturers at the last bike show.

“The decision was very well received by our customers; we will continue to advance the planning,” said Project Manager Dirk Heidrich.

The Demo Day for trade visitors and journalists will be held on the Exhibition Park Lot East on Tuesday 25 August 2015, one day before the start of the main Eurobike show. A total of more than 1200 exhibitors and 40,000 trade visitors from all over the world are expected at Eurobike 2015.
