The eighth JLL Property Triathlon took place at Dorney Lake in Eton, UK, on Friday 4 July, and saw a record breaking 3000 property professionals entering to battle their colleagues and take on the scorching heat to complete the event.
The triathlon raised £116,000 for Samaritans this year. 2014 was the second year of the Property Swim, which doubled the amount of competitors from 100 to 200.
“The event continues to improve every year with the proof being in yet another record breaking increase in entries and money raised,” said Guy Grainger, UK Chief Executive at JLL. “Having raised over £1 million in the last 8 years, the triathlon is well on its way to heading to the £2 million mark and it’s fantastic that our charity partners Samaritans are able to benefit from this.”
The event, co-sponsored by Estates Gazette and coordinated by Human Race, comprised a 750m swim, a 21K cycle and a 5K run – as well as the separate open water swim event, the Property Swim, a 2.2K swim across Dorney Lake. The event was also supported by JLL’s sponsored athletes the 2008 and 2011 World Champion triathlete Helen Jenkins and Great British paralympian table tennis medallist Will Bayley.

It was a real test of endurance for everyone involved and a fantastic effort, which raised over £116,000 for Samaritans. Staff at JLL have raised more than £383,000 since our Charity Partnership started eighteen months ago.”
She continued, “This is amazing, and has surpassed all our expectations. JLL have shown creativity, passion and hard work in their fundraising activities and the money raised has allowed us to answer tens of thousands of calls from people struggling to cope.”
