With a Kickstarter crowd-sourced funding project currently under way, Triathlonbox is a frame mounted transportation solution ‘to reduce the stress on a triathlete in the build up to their swim, bike & run.’
The Triathlonbox offering is positioned as a simple, but new and innovative way to reduce stress on race day. Rather than carry around standard boxes to carry gear before the start of a race, Triathlonbox features a frame mounted transportation solution. Through a sleek design and compartmentalisation, everything a triathlete needs can be kept in the right place – helping to allay pre-race nerves and the transportation of all gear from car to transition.
Via its Kickstarter funding project, Triathlonbox will only be funded if at least £50,000 is pledged by Friday 9 May 2014 15:31 GMT.
Triathlonbox is planning to develop from one initial product to a small specific range of bike-mounted products for use in triathlon, duathlon and other cycle sports. Initially, the product will be aimed at individuals who participate in multisport events within the UK and a small number of European buyers due to the cost of distribution, as the brand gets up on its feet.

According to Triathlonbox founder and developer John-Paul Ashton, the USP of the product is that Triathlonbox, as a high capacity container, enables a triathlete to carry all of their equipment in one go and on their own. It is mounted on the bike frame and is stable and manoeuvrable.
The Leeds-based triathlete notes that the product has been tested on a range of bikes from small ladies’ bikes through to larger time trial bike frames. Triathlonbox is designed to accommodate both older bikes and newer bikes with cable routing. The weight of a triathlete’s kit is distributed through the saddle and the frame.
The large central section has ample room for all race day essentials from the biggest bike helmet to pairs of trainers and cycling shoes. It can also accommodate some of the smaller track pumps currently available. Water bottle holders can be accessed at all times, the top mounted pockets are for smaller items located at the top of the box.
Triathlonbox is also seen to be perfect for off-season kit storage, enabling all kit to be stored in one place, bike-mounted between events, training sessions and during the winter months.
